WEEK OF 11.8.04
A somewhat abbreviated version of the last week in reality television with thoughts on the “Apprentice”, “Survivor”, “My Big, Fat, Obnoxious Boss”, and “The Biggest Loser”….
-At least Raj knows he's a boob and has no shame whatsoever. And why do they plop Robin behind a desk every week? Can we see her stand up at some point and look hot? Is she really a member of Trump's organization, or just an actress told to sit there and say the same one line every week? "You can go to see Mr. Trump now."
-Ivana adds nothing to the show other than being the most completely flustered person left. She's nuts. and everyone hates her. Never a good combo. Even the Donald said, "Look, we don't like her, but she doesn't deserve to be here."
-How exactly did Stacy J. escape from the mental institute long enough to do the show? That couldn't have sat well with the doctors. Is she being forced to put in extra community hours now? You just know she's getting the ankle bracelet thrown on her.
-Raj had a blue shirt on in the boardroom. When he walked out to the cab, his shirt was white. Then when he was in the cab talking about his firing, his boardroom attire was back on. Just thought I'd point that out.
-Remember how last week I mentioned who I thought my Final Four would be in “Survivor”? Forget it. The idiot guys who decided to start dumping the strong males because Julie was showing everyone her crack basically just lost the game for themselves. However, I will say that there’s no way it’ll be an all women Final Four. Some guy will somehow find a way to get in there. But you can almost be certain a woman will win this thing since they’ve stuck together since Day 1, and more than half the jury will be made up women. So even if a guy gets into the final, the women will vote for their own. Sorry Sarge. That’s what happens when you get sucked into Julie’s game.
-I actually thought of everyone remaining, Rory was playing the game the best until last week. And he doesn’t even get to be part of the jury. Name me one woman out there who’s playing a good game? Just one. Of course you can’t. They’re just winning because the guys are idiots, not because they’ve done anything right or “outplayed” anyone. This is shaping up just like “Amazon”. Jenna did absolutely nothing but drop her bikini bottoms and give every guy a hard on to win the million dollars. Expect more of the same this season.
-If that ol’ redneck Twila played her cards right, she might actually pull this thing out. I just don’t know if she has the IQ points to do it. Granted, going up against Amy, Julie, Eliza, and Scout, she doesn’t need many. If any at all. As bright as a box of hammers those four are. Well, Amy’s someone bright. I mean, she did nude up for Playboy so you gotta give her some credit for that.
-If the guys don’t form some sort of shakeup and this goes according to as I’ve said it would, it’ll end up being the worst “Survivor” season ever. Maybe Marquesas was worse with Vecepia winning, but not too far behind. And it’s not that I’m against women winning this thing, but even though 5 of the previous 8 winners have been women, only one woman has truly outwitted and outplayed anyone in “Survivor” history, and she didn’t even end up winning and that’s Kathy from “Marquesas”. I would just like to see someone who actually deserves to win actually win, and I know that’s not happening this season unless one of the guys pulls it off.
-“My Big, Fat, Obnoxious Boss” was pretty funny on Sunday, although only me and about 7 other people even watched it. As much hype as it got, the ratings stunk. They must have some weeks where he eliminates more than one person because I don’t think that show’s going for 12 weeks. Not at those ratings. Fox will pull that thing quicker than Justin pulled Janet’s top off. Anything that doesn’t take itself seriously and is blatantly making fun of the “Apprentice” is funny to me. “Apprentice” is still a much better show, but the small things Fox makes fun of are very funny.
-I watched basically all of “The Biggest Loser” on Monday night. Let me tell ya’, could it be anymore depressing? I understand what they’re trying to accomplish with the show and there are some uplifting stories on it, but it’s almost becoming too much fluff. Hey, if it changes the lives of those people and forces them to watch their weight and care about something they never cared about before, then so be it. That’s a good thing. But it’s still somewhat of a cruel show.
