REALITY ROUNDUP WEEK OF 2.21.05 Thoughts on the last week of reality television. Shows include “Survivor”, the “Apprentice”, and “American Idol”. -I can already tell this will be a good season of “Survivor”. So much for keeping the strong and voting out the weak. Nice decision last week. Keep the unathletic tattooed freak, and dump the strong, black woman. I'm sure some group led by Omarosa will be up in arms over this. -How much were you willing to wager that the minute that old bag started singing songs on the boat, that when it came down to picking teams, she was about as likely to get picked than a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest? Did that woman even want to be there? How did she think that would endear her to the team? -Boy, they really stocked up this season on some wannabe male models. Geez. How are these beefcakes going to last without a mirror for this long? And there's really only about two, maybe three, decent looking girls, which is surprising. Although this week, one of them is already giving up the ass at night. Hey, on this show, sleeping with your legs around someone can be constituted as such. -I already have my pick for who I want to win. I figure he'll be around long, but his strength might ultimately get him booted. Tom, the New York fireman. He's the epitome of what the show's about. Strength, leadership, and a good guy. Kinda reminds me of Andrew Savage from “Pearl Islands”. The guy who held all those water buckets over his back on that one challenge. But if Tom ends up on the wrong team, which he might be since his team is the smart team, and the other team is all muscle. -Ian, the guy who got to the immunity first, reminds me of Ace Ventura. A true geek. Then I saw his profession: Dolphin Trainer. Even more reason to call him Ace Ventura. -I definitely like the cast though. A good mix thus far, and next week, we already see beefcake #1 rubbing up against Kim, the blonde hot girl. I'm really curious to see how the "smart" team even competes if what Probst said is true about the physical challenges. They can't hold a candle to the other team strengthwise. -Something tells me Korar's boat tipping over was staged. We never saw the wave tip them over, and all the sudden they're overturned and have lost their flint. Hmmm....a little curious about that one. I didn't see any waves in that water. -Something's becoming perfectly clear on this season of the “Apprentice”: Because you have a college degree, doesn't mean you have an ounce of creativity in your body. That team is just flat out dumb. The idea last week wasn't bad, but they didn't do nearly enough to promote it. -I will say this about Bren. I thought he handled himself as well as a project manager who lost could. Didn't yell, didn't lose his mind, and actually thought out his arguments. As for Stephanie, she did pretty well in there too by not becoming an emotional basket case and fumbling over her argument. The only girl I can see winning this thing. Erin may be hot, but I haven't decided yet if she could actually run a company. She speaks well in the boardroom and is very confident, but I have a feeling she's a little too emotional and one time will just lose it. I don't see Stephanie doing that. One thing Erin has going for her? Trump wants to bone her. -I'm actually surprised the casting agent idea worked. But, they were charging $25, so I guess they didn't have to get as many people in the door. $10 for a massage? Definitely not getting a happy ending for that amount. -Dumping Michael was a no-brainer. He's just an ass. "I'm just like Trump. I'm the sexiest guy on our team." Please, loser. Shutup. You're Raj without the bowtie. And dropping your business card in front of Trump before you left? Yeah, I'm sure he'll give you a call immediately. -After Bren, Stephanie, and Michael came back in the boardroom, there was a TON of sound editing done. Every time Trump was talking, the camera was on one of the three candidtates, and the sound quality was completely different than when the camera is on him. Please. They've got to stop doing this. Makes it seem like the boardroom is done up after the fact. -I hate how this column goes up on Tuesday which only gives me a chance to critique the men’s performances on last night’s “American Idol”. Then by next Tuesday, the women will have performed and the men a second time. But I have to do what I have to do. I guess. Wilmer Guarini had the best performance last night followed by Anwar Robinson, and I thought, Sergei Federov, or whatever his name is. Something tells me he’s going far. -How did Simon and Paula’s “feud” end up on the cover of “People” magazine this week? How has this season been any different from the previous seasons? Simon is honest, and will call people out that suck. And Paula doesn’t have a negative bone in her body and is a horrible judge. Pretty simple. She’s threatening to quit? Really? Please do. Then Simon and Randy could bring in Debbie Gibson. Or maybe Tiffany. Return to the realitysteve.com home page |
